Centrestage was founded in May of 1987 by Alex Gourlay, who started out offering for hire a very modest sound and lighting system and a dream of becoming a professional sound engineer. Over the ensuing years his dreams have been fulfilled for the usual reasons associated with hard work, dedication and of course passion.From humble roots working the pub and club circuit with little known acts, the business has evolved and expanded to become a recognised supplier to clients such as; The Seven Network, ABC TV, Triple j Radio, Myspace.com, The University of Technology Sydney (UTS), international touring groups such as REM, actor Russell Crowe and many more.
These days, its founder Alex, can be found more often behind the office desk not the mixing desk, providing technical direction and project management solutions for clients.
